AASHNA SHROFF and her love for Every. Beauty. Product. Ever
Ashna dearest, is there any skin, makeup or hair care product that you wouldn’t recommend to your lovely followers? Or do you want them to put on every cleanser, pore minimizer, hydrating moisturizer, activating serum, skin mist toner ever made? Your reels tab is like a walk in a skin supermarket, every second reel one stops on is a testimonial for some skin care brand or another. God’s sake woman, pick a lane! How can you expect your followers to try and use every brand that fills your pocket! Is that practical? More importantly, is that right?
Do you really believe that women should pump their skins with all these chemicals, acids and ceramides without paying heed to their own skin type, hormones and needs? It’s bizarre how in today’s time you expect people to be so stupid and clueless about their own needs. Doesn’t a dip in engagement, every time you create such drab content open your eyes, even a little bit to reality. You are dealing with a highly educated and self-aware audience; you can’t trick them into believing you actually use all the products you advertise.
Stop being a such bad influence, that’s not what influencers are supposed to do.
Don’t you have a team, or some advisors perhaps, that help you make the right decisions. Choose what brands to pick and which ones to let go. To plan and filter your content and strategy? Do you simply turn on the camera and make Instagram reels for any brand that pays you the big bucks? Doesn’t Instagram popularity come with a fair share of responsibility? Should you not do some basic research and analysis before choosing what to advertise on Instagram. We understand that this is where you make your money, and everyone wants to make a lot of it but some mindfulness and discretion would be greatly appreciated. You have over 967k eyes on you, when you choose to influence…at least do it right!
